Eight mid-slots instead of six, which is quite important for a caldari ship as it allows me to fit MWD+point+web and still have enough slots left over for a decent shield tank. 1v1 this would annihilate a T1 raven through sheer tanking ability.

Using EM/Therm is slightly fail, yes, as armour has naturally high resists to both those damage types, although your combination will be good against shield tanks. I agree with you completely though about not being able to group SB's.
